The only evidence I have of Catherine’s existence is the 1860 census record, where she is found living in Brighton, Macoupin County, Illinois with her parents and seven siblings. She disappears by the 1870 census.
The only other evidence is a tombstone photo and a page from a tombstone inscription book, and I’m not even sure this is Catherine.
In 2003 I was sent a PDF file of a few pages of a book of tombstone inscriptions produced by the Macoupin County Genealogy Society. I don’t know when the book was produced or how worn the tombstone was at that time. The book shows the tombstone is situated between that of Catherine Weiss and Henry Weiss, and has the tombstone transcribed as

IRAD (the Illinois Regional Depository Archives Depository does have a birth index for 1857-1903, so I can ask for a look up and hope the birth was recorded.
I can try to locate burial records from the cemetery.
I can try to locate a baptismal record if I can determine the church the Weiss family attended.
